One Psychotherapy Case of a Male Patient Having Obsessions Associated with Fellatio

Abstract

|
He is 25 years old. His father is cruel and a heavy alcoholic. His mother has an extremely fluctuating attitude toward him. He frequently saw his parents having sex in his early childhood. His main problems are homosexually obsessive thoughts(especially the phobia of fellatio) and compulsive cleansing actions. These symptoms began in the senior grade of middle school when he was forced to have fellatio with his friend. After this event, suicidal thoughts plagued him. These same suicidal thoughts also arose during his first heterosexual experience , when his self-esteem was diminished and when he felt inferiority to his father. He assumes that his thoughts of death are always related to his feeling of shame. Also, he assumes that the feeling of shame is from the ’dirt of morality’, and his obsession arises from the fact that he cannot accept the ’dirt of morality’; therefore he continuously acts compulsively to remove the dirt.
